This was such a fun piece Jordan! I did not see that plot twist in the beginning. I agree with your sentiment here, any time I've been scared and tried to "be cool," I'm never happy with the results. Life is always more satisfying and the connections so much better when I can lean into being authentic.
You really hit the nail on the head here, "An important realization I discovered in my many moons of faux coolness is this: any time you try to be something you’re not, you not only rob yourself of the ability to connect with others, but you also rob the other person of the opportunity to connect deeply with the real you." Great essay!
Good to see you here again!
Was that a... real life story?
Your words paint pictures, and you have natural, easy humour. That's not to mention the deep points you're aiming at. Keep going!
Haha indeed, a real life story out in the real wide open. I do have a Legacy to create, you know 😀
Really appreciate your kind words, excited to see you next month!
Hello, friendly neighborhood soggy-panted rapscallion!
Hello Hello Dr. Chong!
Loved this piece man. Such an awesome story, and a great example of the power of authenticity in action. Great stuff!
Thanks Alex!
